How To Get a MCSE certificate?

MCSE takes five or six core exams and two elective exams. The elective exams determine the specialization (track). For example, candidates on the MS Windows 2000 track are required to pass seven exams or the equivalent that include the following:

* Core (five Exams Required): Four OS exams

* One design exam

* Elective Exams (two required): The electives give a good measure of technical knowledge and expertise in design and implementation.

 

As an example of the exam coverage, the MS Win 2000 examination covers - among others - the following skill sets that Microsoft considers essential for any network administrator or professional:

An alternative to the elective exams listed above, CompTIA Security+ certification may substitute for an MCSE elective.
